My name is Vanda, I’m a widow with 3 grown up children. My husband died in 2012 when I was 48 and took my dreams of travelling with him, or so I thought.
In 2014 I was helping to organise a school reunion and, using Facebook as a way of contacting people, it was decided that all the “girls” would add their maiden names to their profile. Not long afterwards, I received a friend request from a man whom I went out with when I was 15 and he was 17. We started chatting and reminiscing about our younger days and to cut a long story short, Andy moved down to the Isle of Wight 3 months later to live with me and we’ve been together ever since. He keeps reminding me now and again, how I broke his heart 38 years ago!
So now we’re embarking on a new adventure together, travelling the length of Europe in a Motorhome lent to us my the lovely people at the Erwin Hymer Group.
What an adventure you’re having - we’ve followed it with great enjoyment, and have made quite a few notes for our future tours! We’ve got a van just like yours on order, and have a question (if it’s allowed): when you’re parked up outside a town, how do you get around? Bike, scooter, taxi, etc?
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased our blog has been useful. We either walk into town or use public transport. We have a facebook page Truckin'n'Lookin which we watch everyday if you need more questions answering :O)
DeleteThanks - keep inspiring us!
