Our Thoughts On Norway

Norway is a stunningly beautiful country. It’s definitely “Motorhome Heaven” with free service points (fresh water, black & grey waste) in every town & tourist attraction it seems. We never struggled once! We were assured the water was even better quality than the mineral water you can buy. They have the ‘right to roam’ policy, so you can stop in some amazing places, but if you prefer campsites, there’s a lot of those to choose from too. We shopped mainly in the Rema 1000s, they seemed a bit cheaper than the other shops. I’m also very pleased to report they have fresh milk everywhere. Food is very expensive, which we knew before we came. Luckily Harriet (Hymer ExsisT 588) has a good payload, so we managed to bring quite a bit of non perishable stuff with us. A loaf of bread costs around £4 but again, we stocked up on the lovely long life ‘bake in the oven bread’ in Germany. The roads are excellent but the Norwegian drivers can be quite impatient and not very courteous. But hey, did I tell you how beautiful it is? It’s a very big country and you can’t get very far very fast as the roads aren’t straight and there’s so much to see! We didn’t need any cash as everywhere we went, they accepted our Halifax Clarity Card. We filled up on cheap fuel every time we saw it (£1.38 ltr on average) and they sell LPG. Come to Norway, you won’t regret it, we’re definitely coming back!!
